The proposed fee increase announced recently by the USCIS is currently in the 60-day comment period which ends on March 6, 2023. If there are enough comments to offset some of the increases, there could be delays while the USCIS consolidates the publication of the Final Rule. Given that H-1B CAP registration begins in the third week in March, USCIS may not have adequate time to implement the increase for FY 2024 (March-April 2023); however, if by any chance the final rule is published with an implementation date prior to CAP registration, Employers can expect to pay $215/registration as opposed to the current fee of $10/registration.
